Emergency support for a major telecoms data centre

We provided emergency support when a major telecoms operatorās data centre suffered a plant failure, causing the site to lose its primary supply.
The siteās standby generators maintained the site in accordance with their design, but as the supply could not be restored promptly, it was deemed that the siteās standby generators should be returned to their intended use and an alternative prime source of power should be used.
We provided 2 x 500kVA prime running generators, with over 2km of cabling, fuel management and around the clock engineering support to continue the site operations. Acting as a primary power supply, this enabled the siteās standby generators to be returned and re-instated the N+1 operation.
The loss of supply occurred during a very hot summer period and as this power supply was also linked to the data centreās cooling, any downtime had to be minimised. Our installation team worked extremely efficiently overnight to ensure the uptime of the site.
