10MVA temporary power supply for complex site testing & commissioning

Our client operates multiple grid balancing & frequency response and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) sites across the UK. They required a reliable, high-capacity temporary power solution to support complex site testing and operational verification. The project demanded a total of 10MVA at 400V, delivered safely, efficiently and within a tight timeframe, with multiple connection points across the site.

Woodlands Power mobilised a fleet of eight 1250kVA trailer-mounted, containerised generators, each equipped with individual fuel tanks. We supplied all associated power distribution cabling and infrastructure to facilitate connection to four separate site connection points.

Our experienced in-house engineering team managed delivery, installation, configuration and testing over a three-day period, working closely with the client’s engineering team to ensure seamless integration with existing site systems.

By day four, the client had successfully completed their test schedule with full operational verification achieved. Following confirmation of test results, we commenced demobilisation, completing the process within a further 48 hours — ensuring minimal disruption to the site and programme.

The project was delivered safely, on time and to specification.
