Low-emission power for a remote construction project
During the construction phase of new facilities our customer required a fuel-efficient, ultra low emission temporary power solution at a large, remote nature reserve. This would power the site until a new mains supply was available.
Woodlands supplied 1 x 60kVA Stage 5 and 1 x 100kVA Stage 5 generator. Thanks to the synchronised load share operation, one unit could be shut down for service and maintenance while the other generator carried the load – this resulted in a seamless power supply for the customer.
As the project progressed from the construction phase to operation, the customer’s load profile changed. This required a much reduced night-time load. We supplied one of our 45kVA/60kWhr ESS battery storage units to replace the 60kVA generator to create a hybrid power solution. This allowed for a completely diesel-free supply of power at night-time and on weekends.
Our engineers carried out full installation and commissioning to ensure the synchronised package was correctly set up and would function efficiently for the duration of the project. Routine servicing was also provided as part of the rental cost as well as remote fuel monitoring and management.
The customer received a total solution that provided peace of mind and an efficient power supply at every point of an evolving project.
