Mobilising a complex emergency response in Europe

An urgent rental enquiry for 2 x 350kVA standby generators for a site in Gibraltar came in from a global data company that maintains over 50 data centre locations worldwide.

To respond to a power supply failure at the customer’s Gibraltar site, we used our in-house transport fleet to deliver the equipment by road. The kit was on site in Gibraltar within 36 hours of the initial call. Our engineers travelled by air to aid with the complex install, which was particularly challenging due to the site being located underground, beneath the Rock of Gibraltar.

The solution was to skate the equipment down a long tunnel into the data centre, before integrating the generators with the existing air and exhaust systems.

Our engineers supported and maintained the equipment throughout the duration of the project, which lasted 18 months.
