Round-the-clock support in the North Sea
The cable ship C S Sovereign required temporary power while undertaking cable laying operations for a new wind farm in the North Sea, based out of Esbjerg.
We supplied 2 x 440v, 60Hz 500kVA containerised diesel generators to a full offshore specification โ including fire suppression systems, spark arresters and air shut off valves โ operating on an N+1 basis. The generators powered a remotely operated underwater vehicle (ROV) during the cable laying.
The generators were supplied with a full cabling and distribution package to enable the ROV spread to be supported on a 24/7 basis.
Our commissioning engineers installed the generators on site and provided 24-hour watchkeeping over the power plant for the hire duration. This ensured 100% uptime of the vesselโs cable laying capabilities to guarantee the project met its deadline.
The generator remained on board for the full seven-month cable installation project.
