Supplying 386 generators to power humanitarian efforts in Ukraine
Woodlands Power was called upon to supply 386 mobile canopied generators to Ukraine as part of a UK Government donation and in response to an urgent request from a global NGO.
Following a request by President Zelensky, five companies, including Woodlands Power, were selected to fulfil a UK Government donation of 569 generators to power essential humanitarian efforts. Woodlands Power contributed the majority of these units – 345 in total, ranging from 4-500kVA, along with power cabling and ongoing spares packages. A further 41 generators were supplied by Woodlands to support a global NGO request.
Woodlands Power’s generators were transported from the depot in Evesham, Worcestershire, to a hub in Poland. From there, they were distributed to areas of Ukraine requiring power for essential services such as hospitals and shelters. Woodlands was responsible for the coordination of delivery and customs, full service packages, and cable packages.
Jack Preece, CEO of Woodlands Power, said: “The Woodlands team worked hard to fulfil the order urgently. We’re proud that our power generation equipment has contributed to the humanitarian effort in Ukraine.
“We’re known for our ability to respond at short notice in a crisis and have become used to providing essential power for utilities, hospitals and other critical infrastructure and services. It’s humbling to know that Woodlands Power has played a small role in safeguarding access to power in Ukraine for vital services.”
A tweet from Vadym Prystaiko, the former Ukrainian Ambassador to the UK, acknowledged the shipment of generators from the UK, saying “the light will always win over darkness.”
